About Hernán
The dream of living by the sea and his love for surfing led him to train as a lifeguard and settle in his place in the world: Mar del Plata, the capital of Argentine surfing.
He has worked as a lifeguard for more than 15 years, on almost every beach in the city from north to south. That is where he learned when and why each break works, and the job also took him to some of the best waves in Europe.
Every day he reports the ocean on @la.popu2. The Argentine coast is not a straight line: you can surf almost whenever there is swell, because there is plenty of shelter from the wind.
