About Fabio
His fascination with surfing led him to study meteorology: Fabio wanted to know what has to happen for a swell to arrive, and to understand which conditions make good waves in Uruguay.
He worked for 12 years as a meteorologist at INUMET (2008–2020), in charge of reports, forecasts and warnings for the public, aviation and marine navigation. He has travelled the whole Uruguayan coast and knows how each area works and how swells develop across the region.
Since 2008 he has shared ocean conditions on “Mirando al Océano”. He lives in Maldonado.
