Fabián Fernández, founder and CEO
Five years later the problem is the same, only now in four countries. Lineup brings live cameras and forecasts made by people together, so nobody misses a good session.

A camera on the beach is worth a thousand charts: you see how it's breaking, how much wind there is and how many people are in the water before loading the board.
Models give you numbers; a forecaster who knows their coast tells you which spot will work and at what time.
“Today we run cameras in four countries and our own forecast in eight. That combination didn't exist in the region, and it's exactly what we set out to build.” — Fabián
Fabián builds it to solve his own problem: knowing what the ocean looks like before driving an hour to the beach.
Angel investors back Lineup and we join the Cubo Itaú startup hub in Brazil.
South America's first surf camera network joins Lineup. Fabio, our first forecaster, comes on board, and ANDE backs us.
Luiz, formerly at Surfline, joins to lead forecasting, and Hernán in Argentina. Partnership with Surfrider Argentina.
We pass 100 cameras, officially launch in Chile with Buscaolas and Max, and partner with Save The Waves.
We launch on the App Store, meet the community in La Paloma, and WavesNow joins: 97 cameras in Brazil.
Spread across Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. We meet on video calls all year round and in the water whenever we can.

We build Lineup with surfers: we listen, test and adjust. That's why we meet the community in person.
“That has always been our philosophy: building Lineup together with the surf community.” — FabiánOne forecaster per country, who surfs their coast. Models help; the final read is human.
“I'd rather be measured by that than by the number of cameras.” — FabiánEvery network that joins Lineup comes with its people: those who built it keep running it. Chemistry first, business second.
“We ended up doing business with the people we got along with best.” — FabiánWe wait for the right wave: not everything happens at the pace you want. We fall, get back up and paddle out again.
“No wave is the same as the one before. You have to be ready for whatever comes.” — FabiánWe work with Surfrider Argentina and Save The Waves to protect the beaches we show every day.
